The goal: get found locally and send more of the right people to your booking store.
You've already got a solid online rental store. This is about the public-facing brand site — piranharents.com — that should be getting people there. Here's a new version I built, shown next to the current one: what's changed, why it matters, and where we can take it.
The current brand site runs on a GoDaddy website-builder template, and the template's limits show through — duplicated "Welcome to Piranha Rents" text, three service cards that all came out labeled "Snow Removal," a 2022 copyright, and two different phone numbers on the page. None of that reflects the business; it's just what a drag-and-drop builder leaves behind. The new site is a custom build that clears all of it, shows off the fleet, keeps contact details consistent, and points visitors straight to your online booking store.
| Dimension | Current — GoDaddy builder | New — custom build |
|---|---|---|
| Design | Generic builder theme, thin layout | Custom editorial design, photo hero, capability marquee, numbered sections |
| Headline text | "Welcome to Piranha Rents" duplicated four times template | Clean single hero: "We Eat The Competition." |
| Service cards | Three cards, all labeled "Snow Removal" template | Correctly labeled: Commercial · Snow Removal · Homeowner |
| Phone number | Two different numbers on the page to confirm | One consistent number sitewide |
| Fleet detail | Vague "excavator, loader, or anything else" | Models, weights & attachments; "all 9 rental categories"; dedicated pages |
| Path to booking | No clear route to the online rental store | "Reserve / Check availability" links that send visitors straight to the store |
| Lead capture | Generic contact page only | Quick rental-request form with an equipment-type dropdown, on the page |
| Freshness | "© 2022" | "© 2026" — current |
| Service area | "Upstate New York" | Greater Rochester, Western NY & the Finger Lakes (named) |
| SEO meta | OK title; thin OG ("We eat the competition!") | Keyword-rich title, detailed description, geo tags, hero OG image |
| Platform | Paid GoDaddy Website Builder (monthly) | Static site, free Netlify hosting, fully owned |
A drag-and-drop builder leaves rough edges: the current page repeats "Welcome to Piranha Rents" four times in a row, and its three service cards all came out titled "Snow Removal" even though they describe commercial, snow and homeowner work. The 2022 copyright dates it, too. None of that is a reflection of the business — it's just what the template produced — but to a customer comparing rental companies, those small things can quietly cost a call.
The new site clears every one of them: a single clean hero, correctly labeled Commercial / Snow Removal / Homeowner cards, and a current 2026 footer — so the first impression matches the quality of the work and the store behind it.
The current site shows two different phone numbers — the "call" link near the top points to (585) 303-4813, while the contact block lists (585) 413-3241. A customer can't tell which is right, and inconsistent phone and address details also make it harder to rank in local search. The new site uses a single number sitewide; we'll just confirm the right one before launch so it's locked in everywhere, including on Google.
The current site never says what you actually rent beyond "excavator, loader, or anything else." The new site breaks out the fleet — mini excavators (418 up to a JD 85, 2,596–19,000 lb, rental includes two buckets), track & skid loaders (Bobcat T595, T650, T770 with a full attachment lineup), and snow gear (plows, pushers, angle brooms, seasonal contracts) — across nine rental categories with their own pages. Each one gives a ready-to-go renter a clear path into your online booking store, with a quick rental-request form for everyone who'd rather just ask.
The new build targets the phrase customers actually search — "Equipment Rental Rochester NY" — with a detailed description, geo meta tags, and a named service area covering greater Rochester, Western NY and the Finger Lakes, versus the current site's thinner "Upstate New York." A stronger brand site means the name people search lands somewhere that actually ranks and then routes them to your store. It's also off the GoDaddy builder and onto a fast, free, fully owned static site.
The before-and-after is the proof. This is the part that actually moves the needle — what a stronger front door means for the bookings you bring in.
A marketing site that ranks locally catches people searching to rent and routes them straight to your booking store — so more of the visitors who land on your name actually make it to checkout instead of bouncing off a dated page.
Ranking for "equipment rental Rochester NY" puts you in front of someone who needs a machine this week — not just browsers. The new site is built to show up exactly when local demand is highest.
Rates references, seasonal snow contracts, new machines as the fleet expands — the site scales with the business without needing a redesign each time. Add a category, add a page, keep moving.
No monthly GoDaddy builder fee and no platform lock-in on the brand site. It's yours — fast, hosted for free, and free to change whenever you want, however you want.
None of this is needed to launch — the new site stands on its own today. But once it's live, here's the runway it opens up whenever you're ready to push further.
Tune up the listing so the business shows in the local map pack with the right hours, photos and service area — often the first thing a renter sees.
A simple way to invite happy customers to leave a Google review — social proof that lifts both trust and local ranking over time.
Smooth the hand-off from the marketing site into your online rental store — clear "Reserve now" paths on every category so visitors flow straight to checkout.
Simple how-to and seasonal pages (snow prep, "which machine for the job") that pull in more local search traffic year-round.
The new site is built and ready. These are quick, collaborative steps to take it from preview to live — most of them just need a yes or a quick detail from your side.
Click through the new site, hold it up against the current one, and if it feels right, let's talk about pointing your domain over and making it official.
